Tournament Champions

Congratulations to the LYFC Bantams for winning it all and taking home the hardware at the Gilbert Little League Football Tournament this weekend. The Bantams played four games in one day against a tough White Knoll team and talented Gilbert team.

Lexington Youth Football is partnering with the University of South Carolina’s Athletic Training Program and USA Football for the 2015 youth football Season.  Through research grants with USC and USA Football, Lexington Youth Football will be part of a multi-state initiative to enhance medical care and safety for youth football.  As part of the program, a certified athletic trainer will be assigned to Lexington Youth Football to provide medical care for the athletes during practices and games. Through additional partnerships with USC Sports Medicine, the Marcus Lattimore Foundation and USA Football, this program will be working to improve the future of youth football by working to create the safest health standards and the best care possible for youth football athletes.  Research opportunities, examining head impacts, concussions, heat and hydration, and nutrition of youth football players will be available to parents and athletes interested in participating.  The Lexington Youth Football League will be one of only 6 youth football leagues in the nation who will have athletic training coverage at their practices and games.  With the attendance of a Certified Athletic Trainer, an allied health professional, we hope to provide the best experience for every child in the league and be part of the future of safety standards in football.
